My husband and I arrived in Thailand with our 3 children in 2015 for our first overseas assignment. I first met Liz Lu at a school fair and was thrilled to discover she was eager to start a community library. My previous jobs and passions included working in children’s literature and school libraries, so we made a connection instantly. I soon joined as vice-president of Bumble Bee Free Library. My family left Thailand in 2019 to return to the U.S. It has been a joy being a part of BBFL from the very beginning and watching its massive growth. The community spirit and support has been heart-warming, and I am grateful to be a part of BBFL and its mission to the community. In June 2020, I joined BBFL as an Advisory Board member.

Two years ago, I began volunteering for the library as a story time leader and it quickly became my favorite part of every week.
The accessibility to books and other services offered for local Thai families and for expats do immeasurable good for the surrounding community.
I am so grateful to be able to continue my involvement in the library and to help in any way that I can, even from afar.
Tara served on the BBFL Executive Board of Directors while she was in Thailand. She joined as a Advisory Board member in Jne, 2020.
